The Inn at Whittier

We lost our wedding coordinators even though it was supposed to be paid for through our venue fee. We ended up having to hire our own wedding coordinator so that was an added cost we weren\'t expecting. Location was beautiful, even in the beginning of January. Staff were generally nice and helpful and let us in the hotel rooms earlier than expected. Be sure to negotiate on the buffet or plated dinner prices. They will overcharge you if you don\'t know what is reasonable! Wine and beer very good prices. Liked how they did the cake cutting for us. They did forget to serve coffee and iced tea like we had requested and paid for, not happy about that. Hotel rooms were decent but many guests had to open up their windows at night since the heat was on full blast. Because of the rain, some of the guests eating dinner noticed water dripping on the tables. I could see some parts of the roof needed repair, but nothing too serious. Loved having the whole hotel for just our wedding, made it a nice private event. Had a brunch the next morning and it was nice to see all our guests before we left. Overall, the experience was nice.

The setting was beautiful, but the venue could have made for a catastrophic day. I booked the Inn 10 months in advance and 3 of the staff that were to assist me quit in a period of 5 months. Fortunately the Inn hired awesome wedding planners to help prevent complete chaos. Once the staffing issues were resolved, everything came together nicely. The Inn was beautiful, the food was excellent, and all of our guests had a wonderful time. I would recommend the Inn to other brides with a little patience and a lot of faith.

Nothing caused me more stress than our venue. My contacts either left or quit. This all occured one month before our wedding and nothing had been planned. Felt extremely worried that the whole thing would fall apart though I was promised the moon and stars and reassured that everything would be ok even with the change in staff. Was completely dissappointed in the lack of proffesionalism and organization. There was very little effort made to communicate on their part. The place in itself is beautiful and the remaining staff was able to pull it off in the end.
